Entertainer Visa

What to Organize Before an Entertainer Visa Consultation

For an Entertainer visa, the performer’s career is only one part of the picture. What matters is the overall structure: what will be done in Japan, where, when, under whose invitation, and under what contract.

Five items to organize first

  1. Activity: live performance, music festival, stage performance, commercial or video shoot, modeling, etc.
  2. Schedule in Japan: planned entry, rehearsals, performances/shooting dates and departure.
  3. Remuneration and contracts: who pays the performer and under which agreement.
  4. Venue or location: concert hall, event venue, studio or other location.
  5. Inviting structure: Japanese organizer, production company, inviting company and each party’s role.

Small and urgent cases can also be reviewed

We also review one-person or small-group cases, short shoots and short events. For urgent matters, sharing the schedule and currently available documents first helps us determine the filing structure quickly.

Key point

The applicable Entertainer standard depends on the actual activity. Do not choose the legal category first and force the facts into it; start from the activity, contract, venue and inviting structure.
